10 & 20 Avoca Ave.

How to ensure the buyer secures the property of their dreams before any other bid comes forward.

As soon as I walked into the south facing Suite 405 at 20 Avoca, I knew who the buyer would be. I phoned my mom from the building, asking if she would be open to hopping on a bus the next day from North Bay, where she lived at the time. I had found the place that I was pretty certain would be her perfect fit. She bought it the next day.

What I found out later, was that The Avoca is one of the most sought after addresses in town, especially for architects. In part because of its design and in part because of its location South East of Yonge and St Clair, next to David Balfour Park to the south and Rosehill Resevoir to the East, this co-op is one of Toronto’s choicest abodes. The project was developed by Izzy ‘Four Seasons Hotels’ Sharp in 1969/70.
